We have always prided ourselves on our fast turnaround times and responsive customer service, however, sometimes we have to come up with creative solutions to meet an unusual request.
We were approached by an overseas customer developing a revolutionary product who had an urgent requirement for a custom-built, multiple axis displacement joystick. They needed to showcase the new design at an important program event giving us a turnaround time of less than 4 weeks! It was all systems go to ensure we kept our reputation as ‘the fastest specialist hand controller company’.
Whilst our engineering designers set to work, we arranged for a loan grip with the same proposed serial interface to be sent to our customer, enabling them to ensure there would be no ‘compatibility surprises’ at the point of integration.
Our dedicated team worked closely with the customer to quickly establish a design base line. However, the very short lead time for the project was only achievable by using our in-house facilities to produce a custom control handle with a 3D printed grip (instead of waiting weeks for a traditionally manufactured part). Furthermore, when our customer had a last minute glitch, our team worked through the weekend to ensure a solution was in place in time for their event.
Thanks to excellent communication, a dedicated team and innovative use of our specialist facilities, we were delighted to deliver this new design on time.
